It’s Chow Time: FourBlock to Host Live MRE Cook-Along Event on October 21st
All proceeds from the fundraising event will support FourBlock’s Career Readiness Programs for veterans and military spouses
October 1, 2021 (NEW YORK CITY) – FourBlock, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans and military spouses successfully transition to meaningful new careers after military service, will host “It’s Chow Time: FourBlock Live MRE Cook-Along,” a live virtual fundraising event featuring a group of veteran special guests who will have a friendly competition to see who can prepare the best military-style MRE (“Meal Ready-to-Eat”) on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 7:00 – 8:00 pm ET.
Anyone at home will have the opportunity to participate by purchasing tickets to receive an MRE package of their own and cook alongside FourBlock’s special guests in real time. Viewers will then be able to tune in as the virtual event is livestreamed on FourBlock’s LinkedIn event, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. All proceeds from this event will support the continued growth of FourBlock’s Career Readiness Programs for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses across the country.
“In lieu of our annual in-person year-end celebration, we are thrilled to offer this virtual event and to provide an opportunity for our incredible community to come together again in support of our programs,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “We look forward to a fun evening benefitting the incredible veterans and military spouses that we are honored to serve.”
With opening remarks from FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams, the event will then be moderated by U.S. Air Force Veteran, BFAM Cooking Founder, and YouTube Content Creator Jerome Amos. The event will also feature the following guests: FourBlock alumnus, U.S. Navy Veteran, and U.S.C.G.R. Culinary Specialist Thomas Lee; Mutt’s Sauce Founder and U.S. Air Force Veteran Charlynda Scales; and Leadership Consultant & Strategist and U.S. Marine Veteran SgtMaj Anthony Spadaro, Ret. “It’s Chow Time” will be produced by Neil A. Carousso of Carousso Enterprises.
