James Hines | Career Readiness Instructor: Tampa, FL

James Hines is a proud U.S. Army veteran, dedicated husband, and father of three. Over the course of a distinguished 26-year military career, James served in key deployments to Bosnia, Kuwait, and Djibouti in support of operations including SFOR, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, and CJTF-HOA. He retired in 2021 as a Sergeant First Class with the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Following his transition from active duty, James became a committed advocate for veteran career development. As a FourBlock alumnus, he experienced firsthand the impact of the organization’s mission to empower veterans in their transition to meaningful civilian careers. Today, he gives back as a Career Readiness Instructor, mentoring fellow veterans and guiding them through their own professional journeys.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA in Project Management. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM). In his civilian career, he serves as an IT Program Manager at Caterpillar Inc., where he applies his leadership and technical expertise to drive strategic initiatives.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, James is a co-founder of the Experienced Autism Alliance, a nonprofit organization that supports families and individuals affected by autism through education, resources, and community engagement.
Residing in Riverview, Florida since 2004, James and his wife Tanya have been married for 24 years and are proud parents of three sons—two of whom are currently serving in the U.S. military.
