Wolfe brings 40 years of career development and coaching experience to the foundation.
NEW YORK, NY – FourBlock Foundation has hired U.S. Navy veteran and military-to-civilian career transition expert Tom Wolfe as its alumni career development manager.
In this role, Wolfe will be tasked with engaging FourBlock alumni nationally to ensure all veterans have the support, guidance, and coaching they need to meet their professional goals and reach their potential. Wolfe will also manage and teach FourBlock’s Career Readiness Program when it launches in Charlotte, NC, next fall.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tom and his wealth of career development and coaching experience to FourBlock,” said FourBlock Executive Director Lauren Schulz-Carnes. “Throughout his prestigious career, Tom has helped over 3,000 veterans during their military-to-civilian career transitions, and we look forward to utilizing his expertise to assist our alumni in the continued exploration and development of their careers.”
Wolfe’s work in the field of career development began in 1978 and continues to this day. He was a founding partner of Career Development Corporation, one of the first and most-respected firms in the military-to-civilian career transition industry. Prior his civilian career, Wolfe graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served as a surface warfare officer, tactical action officer, and admiral’s aide.
“Having dedicated my career to assisting our armed forces service members and veterans in their transition from military to civilian jobs and careers, I realized early on that for me, it is more than a profession—it is a calling and a passion,” said Wolfe. “Being a member of the FourBlock team affords me the opportunity to further pursue this passion, focusing on providing career development guidance to our alumni.”
In addition to his role with FourBlock, Wolfe is an author and columnist, writing about the career transition process. He’s contributed to publications such as Military.com, Stripes.com, and Stars & Stripes. His book, Out of Uniform: Your Guide to a Successful Military-to-Civilian Career Transition, Second Edition, was published earlier this year by University of Nebraska Press/Potomac Books.
