FourBlock, Wells Fargo Expand Support for Veteran Career Readiness Program
The firm’s $50,000 grant will support the growth of FourBlock’s flagship program in Charlotte, San Antonio, and San Francisco
(NEW YORK CITY) – FourBlock Foundation, a national nonprofit organization, was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from Wells Fargo to continue their support of veterans in their transition from military service to meaningful civilian careers. The grant will support FourBlock’s flagship Career Readiness Program in 2020-2021 for transitioning veterans in Charlotte, San Antonio, and San Francisco.
“We’re thrilled to grow our Career Readiness Program with the continued support of Wells Fargo,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “Hundreds of new veterans and transitioning service members in the Charlotte, San Antonio, and San Francisco areas will now have access to the professional development, career exploration, and network needed to find meaningful, long-term careers.”
Wells Fargo previously supported FourBlock as an anchor partner for FourBlock’s Charlotte Career Readiness Program, which launched in the spring of 2019 and continues today. The company has also hosted more than 10 Career Readiness Program class sessions across the country to engage with FourBlock veteran participants and help them to build relationships with hiring professionals and other company representatives. Wells Fargo has also gone on to hire 19 FourBlock alumni to-date.
“One of the most stressful moments in a service member’s life after service is career transition,” said Sean Passmore, vice president and head of enterprise military and veteran initiatives. “We are proud to work alongside organizations like FourBlock who continue to provide resources and tools to support veterans during this exciting yet challenging time. We remain committed to veterans and their search for meaningful careers.”
Collaborating with FourBlock as an employer of choice is part of Wells Fargo’s ongoing military commitment and efforts to support service members, veterans, their families, and military communities. Wells Fargo has donated more than $170 million to military- and veteran-related nonprofits since 2012. The company maintains its goal of gainfully employing members of the military community, currently employs more than 9,200 veteran employees.
FourBlock is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting returning service members in their transition from military service to meaningful civilian careers. Now in its 10th year, FourBlock’s flagship Veteran Career Readiness Program is taught by corporate executives in major cities across the U.S. and now serves more than 600 transitioning veterans annually.
