FourBlock Receives Pro Bono Services to Develop an App to Support the Organization’s Powerful Online Community for Veterans

PwC LLP will help FourBlock alumni connect with each other, mentors, and potential employers.

NEW YORK CITY – FourBlock announced today it is working with PwC LLP to develop an app to support its growing community of veteran professionals. The app will empower veterans to develop and deepen relationships with peers, employers, and mentors in a more organic way. Through the app, the FourBlock community of veterans in the workforce will be able to take networking into their own hands and remove the barriers of needing someone from the organization to make the connections. It will also provide a direct platform for employers to share information, such as employment opportunities, with veterans on the app.

“FourBlock is thrilled to work with PwC on developing this app,” said Eric Ahn, Marketing Director for FourBlock. “When you meet someone that has a similar background, there is some level of built-in trust. The FourBlock brand immediately offers that initial trust and small measure of understanding with FourBlock alumni.  This app will allow our community to thrive digitally, find the right contacts, and discover the right opportunities. And simply put, that means more veterans will achieve meaningful careers after their service.”

“The PwC Charitable Foundation, Inc., (the Foundation), has been an early supporter of FourBlock recognizing the value of their programs and services it offers veterans,” said Frank Gaudio, retired US Deputy Tax Leader at PwC and Trustee and Veterans Liaison for the PwC Charitable Foundation.

The Foundation has helped connect PwC’s Veterans Affinity Network leaders to FourBlock to forge pathways to volunteer and pro bono opportunities. A multi-year grant investment with FourBlock, which started nearly three years ago, enabled FourBlock to increase the efficiency and capacity of its customized veteran career development model by helping the organization expand to new cities, educate and re-train approximately 2,500 veterans.

“One of the biggest challenges veterans face is their inability to connect with available benefits, support organizations, and people in similar situations,” said Rajiv Sabharwal, Principal, PwC Advisory. “Through its resources, PwC is making an attempt to facilitate that connection through the use of 21st century digital technologies. We are honored to execute our small part for the community that has given and continues to give so much to our country.”
