FourBlock Receives $75,000 Grant from Truist Foundation
NEW YORK, NY (January 18, 2022) – FourBlock Foundation today announced it received a $75,000 grant from Truist Foundation to help fuel the growth of the organization’s flagship Veteran Career Readiness Program and support more veterans in their transition from military service to meaningful new civilian careers.
“We are deeply grateful to Truist Foundation for its incredible support of FourBlock’s mission and the transitioning service members and veterans we serve,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “This grant will help FourBlock provide hundreds of veterans in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions with the opportunity to develop their professional skills, discover new industries, and build meaningful relationships that will help them achieve success in civilian careers, find new purpose after serving in the military, and contribute to their communities back home.”
The grant from Truist Foundation will fund the continued growth of FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program in Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Orlando, Florida; and Washington, D.C. Since 2018, Truist has partnered with FourBlock and hosted class sessions for FourBlock’s Career Readiness Program in Atlanta.
During the Fall 2021 semester, Truist expanded its participation and hosted sessions for FourBlock’s Career Readiness Program across three cohorts – Atlanta, Charlotte, and Orlando. Seven FourBlock alumni have been hired by Truist into full-time roles or internships to date.
