FourBlock Awarded $50,000 Grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation

The grant will support the growth of FourBlock’s flagship Career Readiness Program in Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Tampa and Los Angeles.

(NEW YORK CITY) – The Coca-Cola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company, has awarded a $50,000 grant to FourBlock, a national nonprofit organization that supports veterans in their transition from military service to meaningful civilian careers. The Coca-Cola Foundation grant will support the organization’s Career Readiness Program in 2020-2021 for transitioning veterans in Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Washington, D.C.; Tampa, FL; and Los Angeles, CA.

“Through the generous support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, we will be able to expand our programming to reach more veterans in these cities than ever before,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “Hundreds of veterans in Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Tampa and Los Angeles will have the opportunity to build new skills and professional relationships that will help them achieve success in civilian careers and meaningfully contribute to their communities.”

In 2017, The Coca-Cola Foundation awarded FourBlock a $50,000 grant to provide services and support for 150 transitioning veterans in Tampa and Atlanta. The Coca-Cola Company has also previously hosted Career Readiness Program class sessions in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., engaging with transitioning veterans and allowing them to build professional relationships with hiring professionals and other company employees.

“The Coca-Cola Foundation is proud to support Four Block in their efforts to assist veterans’ transitions to civilian lives,” said Bea Perez, Chair and President, The Coca-Cola Foundation. “The Career Readiness Program ensures veterans have the skills and capabilities necessary for today’s work environment.”

The Coca-Cola Company’s participation in FourBlock’s Career Readiness Program dates back to April 2016, when the company first hosted a session for the Spring 2016 Atlanta cohort of transitioning service members and veterans.
