Boeing Awards FourBlock $160,000 to Support Veteran and Military Spouse Programming

Grants will support 200 participants of FourBlock’s Veteran and Military Spouse Career Readiness Programs

(NEW YORK CITY) – Boeing recently awarded FourBlock two grants to provide continued support for FourBlock’s Veteran and Military Spouse Career Readiness Programs in the 2023–2024 academic year.

The grants – $100,000 for the Philadelphia area and $60,000 for the Puget Sound region – will support 140 veterans in FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program and 60 military spouses taking part in the Prepare to Launch U’s joint Military Spouse Career Readiness Program. The programs support military families’ transition from service to civilian careers.

In 2023, Boeing awarded more than $12.3 million to over 100 charitable organizations supporting veterans.

“Boeing’s continued generosity allows us to make a meaningful impact on the lives of transitioning service members and their families,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “These grants will play a crucial role in furthering our mission to prepare veterans and military spouses for meaningful new careers, and we are grateful for Boeing’s unwavering commitment to our mission and the military community we serve.”

The collaboration between FourBlock and Boeing began in 2018 and has played a pivotal role in expanding programs throughout the Puget Sound and Philadelphia regions. To date, Boeing has hired 20 FourBlock alumni for full-time roles or internships, including four who joined the company in 2023.

In a recent episode of The FourBlock Podcast, Boeing Global Services Military and Veterans Program Lead Shane R. Chapman and Workforce Development Specialist Devon Rumsey discussed the company’s commitment to supporting veterans and shared advice for veterans and spouses interested in joining Boeing.

The company’s support also helped grow FourBlock’s Career Readiness Coach program, which connects working professionals with current FourBlock participants to provide them with one-on-one guidance and feedback and ensure that each veteran is on a path to success during their transition. Boeing has hosted multiple class sessions for FourBlock in Philadelphia, San Antonio, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
