Boeing Awards FourBlock $175,000 in Grants for Veteran Career Readiness Program
The two grants will support FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program in multiple locations in the Western and Mid-Atlantic regions
(NEW YORK CITY) – Boeing recently awarded FourBlock with two new grants to provide continued support for FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program, which helps returning veterans build the professional relationships they need to achieve their potential and excel in meaningful new careers after military service.
The funding comes as part of nearly $2 million in grants announced by Boeing to Puget Sound-based programs that support military members, veterans and their families, and more than $14 million to fund veterans’ workforce transition services and recovery and rehabilitation programs through 2021 and beyond.
A $100,000 grant from Boeing will continue the company’s support of FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program in Washington, D.C. and help launch a summer cohort of the program there for the very first time. The grant will also fuel and expand FourBlock’s Career Readiness Coach program, which connects working professionals with current FourBlock students to provide them one-to-one guidance and feedback, and to ensure that each veteran is on a path to success during their transition.
A $75,000 grant from Boeing will provide continued support for the Seattle cohort of FourBlock’s Veteran Career Readiness Program, as well as a new regional virtual cohort, called Virtual West. One of three new time-zone based virtual cohorts, the Virtual West cohort will expand access to FourBlock’s programming for transitioning service members throughout the West Coast.
“We are incredibly grateful to Boeing for its unwavering commitment to the transitioning service members and veterans we serve,” said FourBlock Founder and President Michael Abrams. “This continued generous support will allow us to expand our services to meet the growing demand for veteran transition programming in the Mid-Atlantic and West regions and ensure that we can provide our participants with the resources and support needed to excel in meaningful careers after military service.”
Boeing has previously awarded FourBlock grant funding for both the Mid-Atlantic and West regions.
“Boeing is committed to supporting veterans after their time of service, and we understand the value veterans bring to all aspects of our business,” said Boeing’s Director of Veterans Outreach Jason Pak. “FourBlock is doing incredible work, and we are excited to continue this partnership and help them expand these great programs.”
