The event supports FourBlock and Ralph DeQuebec, a wounded US Marine training for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
(NEW YORK CITY) – The FourBlock Foundation will host the third annual Inspire Games, an insurance industry hockey event, on May 3rd at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
100% of proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation and its military veterans, including Gunnery Sergeant Ralph DeQuebec, a wounded US Marine training for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
In 2012, DeQuebec was injured in Afghanistan while disarming an improvised explosive device (IED), losing both legs above the knee. During his recovery, the Marine veteran discovered he responded best, both physically and mentally, to recreational therapy, specifically sled hockey.
DeQuebec is currently team co-captain of the US National Developmental Sled Hockey Team. He is in Denver, CO training to earn a spot in the 2018 Winter Paralympics as part of the US National Sled Hockey Team. A portion of proceeds from this year’s event will go toward supporting him on that quest.
